How can Industry 4.0 be visualised and implemented in software?
As part of a project at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, students have developed a demonstrator based on vehicle production. The system uses building blocks to illustrate the production process of a customised product with standardised processes.

The problem

In order to be able to present Industry 4.0 quickly, a compact and cost-effective robot structure including a connection to a B&R control system was required. In addition, it was important to implement the project within a robot cell so that safety standards can be guaranteed as part of a university project.

The solution

An igus room linear robot with chain set and complete cell. There is also the option of controlling the unit using B&R motor control technology.
The system was completed by a suction pad, which positions the components precisely.
