Components for hygiene-sensitive
areas in the food industry

Our high-performance polymers for the food sector are lubrication-free and can be sterilised with hot steam and cleaned with chemical substances without any problems. They thus fulfil essential requirements for use in food processing machines and production processes (food safety). The blue colouring also makes them easy to detect. In addition, they offer all the typical igus advantages such as freedom from maintenance, simple installation and low-noise and low-vibration operation.

Benefits of igus products:

  • FDA-compliant polymers and certification according to EU regulation 10/2011
  • No lubrication, no product contamination
  • Temperature-resistant and corrosion-free
  • Low moisture absorption
  • Resistance to chemicals, acids, alkaline and alcoholic cleaning media
  • Maintenance-free
  • High wear resistance

Tested in the igus test laboratory for use in the real world

In the largest plastics test laboratory in the industry, iglidur plain bearings and drylin linear technology are put through their paces. Among other things, they are tested for resistance to media (e.g. cleaning media), and for continuous loading and low-noise operation. The results are entered into our tools to calculate service life and allow for precise predictions regarding their durability.
Upon request, igus carries out customer tests to check product use under completely customised conditions.
